Formerly an iconic Brisbane industrial warehouse, potential & proportion were evident from the beginning in this heritage apartment. The clients’ brief was to develop an overlay of a refined and tactile materials palette for a luxurious & contemporary home with industrial elements that tie back to the bones of the space.
The new spatial planning was able to create greater connections between spaces and more logical circulation between them. The opportunity to have all new finishes, fixtures, cabinetry and furniture allowed for a seamless flow of colour and detail throughout the entire two storey apartment, balancing the scale & heritage elements with contemporary detailing.
With high ceilings and an abundance of natural light, the opportunity to embrace a rich dark colour palette allowed for more intimately scaled spaces within the large industrial exterior. The fine cabinetry detailing creates a sense of lightness in a generally dark layered palette, and the soft pale furnishings enhance the colour and depth of the vibrant artworks.
